Workshop on “Residential Electrical wiring”

Electrical wiring is an electrical installation of cabling and associated devices such as switches, distribution boards, sockets and light fittings in a structure. Wiring is subject to safety standards for design and installation and a electrical engineer should know how it will work in appropriate manner. So Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering has organized a two day workshop on “Residential Electrical wiring” by Mr. Ajayram Motilal Gour, Domestic Electrician, Mandsaur for the students of B. Tech. (I & II year) and Diploma (I, II & III year) on 12-13 February 2018. In this workshop students learnt about wiring of component and accessories (Holder, Ceiling Rose, Regulators, Switch, Socket, Switch Board, Two way switches, MCBs etc ) which are used in domestic purpose. He demonstrated staircase wiring, corridor wiring, godown wiring, tube-light circuit connections, circuit board testing and description of various types of earthing. The session was successfully organized by Prof. Virendra Jain.
