Brief description/ Remarks: 

The Faculty of Pharmacy has organized a Webinar entitled “Important Software and Tools Used for Effective Research or Thesis Writing” on 09/06/2021 for the university PhD students, research scholars and faculty members.

Dr. Amit Kumar Jain, Principal & Dr. Swapnil Goyal, briefed about the theme of the webinar to all participants. He introduced the keynote speaker Dr. Swarnali Das Paul, Principal, Shri Shankaracharya College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Bhilai (CG).

She explained the tools like Cavna, Ludus, Windows, Photoshop for pre and post writing stages. Academic writing tools and software that students, academics, researchers and PhD students can benefit from.  She categorized the tools into four broad areas: writing tools, referencing tools, research tools and grammar checking tools.

She also explained regarding reference management software like Mendeey, Endnote X9, plagiarism checking software like Turitin, i-Thenticate and Crossref, Statistical analysis software like SPSS and LaTex.

Dr. Das actively interacted with all participants and answered all the important questions raised by the participants in a very elaborative and informative way. Dr. Amit Kumar Jain, Coordinator and Dr. Swapnil Goyal, Co-coordinator of the webinar expressed vote of thanks to the keynote speaker and all participants.

Outcome:  All the participants actively participated in the webinar. They learnt about role of Important Software and Tools Used for Effective Research or Thesis Writing, which will enrich the participant’s knowledge.
