Brief description / remarks:

Department of Journalism & Mass Communication had organized Virtual discussion on the occasion of 145th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The topic of the discussion was ‘The Vision of India’s Iron Man’ on 31st Oct. 2020 at 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. The total number of 35+ participants have attended the program. Mr. Arun Jaiswal Assistant Professor of Journalism department had started the program, he said Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel was the person who made tremendous contributions to made India free he struggled a lot for the freedom of India. He was a great politician and leader. He served as the first deputy Prime Minister and Home minister of Independent India.  He was also a successful lawyer, he used his legendary negotiation skills to unite the 550 princely states and colonial provinces under the Union of India, to create the nation we know today. While conveying his message to the students he said we should never forget our history what it has given to us and should always remember the prominent persons who has given his contribution at the time of Freedom of India.
Later, Head of Department Dr. Manish Jaisal also shared his views he said he was the person of many ideals he is called as Iron man of India due to his incredible work and outstanding leadership. 31st October is commemorated as National Unity Day (Rashtriya Ekta Diwas).  Sardar Patel Statue of Unity is a monument dedicated to him located in the state of Gujarat. It is famous because of its height which is 182 meters (597 feet). And it is the world’s tallest statue.

The Program was organized to celebrate and remember the great leader Iron Man of India and aware the youth to know about him as our generation don’t want to read the history who has laid the foundation at the time of struggle of Freedom of India.
