Title:  20th MicrobiOlympiad- Microbiological Quiz Contest

Brief description / remarks:

Students of Second and final year of B. Sc (Hons) Biotechnology and Microbiology had participated in the 20th National Level Online Microbiological Quiz Contest “MicrobiOlympiad” organized by the Government Institute of Science, Aurangabad, Maharashtra on 5th March 2021.  The contest was conducted through online mode and the students were informed about the rules and regulation at the beginning of contest. The exam was based on multiple choice questions which were asked from various fields of life sciences. The performance of the students in this exam was appreciable and commendable. Students from across India participated in this contest. Certificate of participation will be provided to all the participants. Overall it was very informative and knowledge enriching competition for the participants. Ms. Heena Shah, Asst. Professor, Faculty of Life Sciences coordinated the smooth conduction of program. The head in charge of the program was Dr. Shekhar Jain HOD, Faculty of Life Sciences.

Outcome:

Competitive exams develop analytical thinking and enhance competitive alertness among the students. They also help students analyze their strengths and weaknesses based on their performance in the nationwide or international level examination. These exams provide an absolute assessment of students’ knowledge and motivate them towards academic improvement.
