National Science Day is celebrated in India on 28 February each year to mark the discovery of the Raman effect by Indian physicist Sir C. V. Raman on 28 February 1928. For his discovery, Sir C.V. Raman was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1930.
Faculty of Life Sciences has celebrated National Science Day by organizing a Documentary presentation on the topic “Women and Girls in Science” on 23rd February 2021. The objective of this program was to spread a message among students about the efforts, achievements and contribution of women and girls in the various fields of science to encourage and inspire by their stories. In this event students presented documentaries on great women scientists like Kalpana Chawla, Dr. Anandibai Joshi, Sunita Williams, Tessy Thomas, Madame Curie and Dr. Swati Mohan, discussed some important event of their life including struggle, contribution and achievements.
The program was judged by Dr. Ashish Warghane and Prof. Yogendra Kumar Verma, Assistant professor, Faculty of Life Science, Mandsaur University.

The program was coordinated by Ms. Heena Shah Assistant Professor, Faculty of Life Science, Mandsaur University. All the faculty members have actively participated in the event.
This type of activity provides students a platform to share their knowledge, express their thoughts, develop communication skills and increases their literacy about the role of Women and Girls in Science encourage and inspire them to develop positive thinking and also enhance their knowledge understanding about science. All the students participated enthusiastically in the event.
