i) To promote sports for health.
ii) To find out rural talents in Indore – Ujjain Division.
iii) To facilitate sports and health among our university students.
iv) To teach the B. P. Ed students rules and regulation of Kabaddi with practical approach.
v) To teach the B. P. Ed students how to manage and organize tournament as the part of their curriculum.
vi) To promote the excellence of Mandsaur University in the remote areas of Indore – Ujjain division.
Brief description/ Remarks:
The department of Physical Education has organized a two day under seventeen divisional level boys tournament entitled “Khelo Kabaddi U-17 Boys Tournamrnt”. A total of 16 teams have participated in the tournament from different tehsils and region of Indore and Ujjain division. Total 177 players participated in the tournament. The tournament was a single knock out tournament. Among the teams participated in the tournament 4 teams, Raj Club Jalariya, Sangstha Sanatan Paliya, Garoth Sports Club and Nagda Sports Club qualified in the semifinal. Fourth position was secured by Nagda Sports Club, Third position was secured by Garoth Sports Club. Raj Club Jalariya became the runner up in the tournament and Sangsthan Sanatan Paliya, Indore won the tournament. This tournament was declared open by honorable vice-chancellor sir, Dr. Shailendra Sharma. The chief guest of the opening ceremony was honorable Mr. Rahul Nahata. The sports officer of Mandsaur district Mr. Vijendra Dewra was the chief guest in the closing ceremony. 11,000 cash prize with medal and trophy was the first prize, 5100 cash prize with trophy and medal was the second prize, 2100 cash prize and medal was the third prize and 1100 cash prize and medal was the fourth prize and certificate was distributed among all the participants.
Outcome: Such type of extracurricular activity helps in the enhancement of student’s practical experience. Students also learn about the rules regulation of kabaddi and how to manage and organize such tournament. Such type of tournament also helps to spread the excellence of Mandsaur University in very rural and remote areas of Indore and Ujjain Division.
