Brief description / remarks:

Currently, the construction sector is facing an increasing demand for major innovations in terms of digital dematerialization and technologies such as the Internet of Things, big data, advanced manufacturing, robotics, 3D printing, blockchain technologies and artificial intelligence. The demand for simplification and transparency in information management and for the rationalization and optimization of very fragmented and splintered processes are key driver for digitization.

In this regard, the Department of Civil Engineering had organized a webinar on “Digital Transformation of Civil Engineering” on 29th May 2021 from 3.00 pm to 5.00 pm. Due to Covid 19 Pandemic situation, the workshop executed online mode through the google meet platform. A total of 101+ participants had joined the workshopvirtually through google meet including students and faculty members of MU. Furthermore, 225 participants had also connected through YouTube link.Similar to the last session, the current workshop also witnessed faculties, Engineers, and students connected fromvarious sources.

The workshop began with a formal welcome by Dr. Sritam Swapnadarshi Sahu (Host controller) and followed by Dr. Shah where he delivered a presentation on the said topic. The presentation along with various case studies related to the latest avenue like 3D printing, blockchain technology, artificial intelligence, BIM etc with video representation made the webinar to the next level. The event went smoothly because of a good team which includes Mr. Nanalal Kumawat, Tousif Abbasi, Piyush Paliwal, Amit Kumar Sinha for their collective effortto facilitate a successful webinar. At the end of the meeting, Mr. Azharuddin Sheikh provided a vote of thanks to the audience.
