Sustainable Energy Initiatives in India
Faculty of Life Science has organized a written quiz competition entitled “Sustainable Energy Initiatives in India” for the students of IInd Semester B.Sc (Honours) Biotechnology and Microbiology on 23rd February 2019, between 2.00pm to 3.30pm. Quiz was based on renewable source of energy and initiatives taken by India for their utilization and development. The competition started sharp at 2.00pm with the explanation of rules and regulations to be followed while participating to the contestant. Ten groups were divided among 20 students; each group consists of two students. Slides of Multiple choice questions (one question in each slide) were displayed to the contestant, and they were asked to write the correct option in a paper. Group V (Aman Khan and Kuldeep Loohar from B.Sc (Honours) Biotechnology) were declared winner for answering 16 correct answers followed by Group VIII (Umme Salma and Mridul Sharma B.Sc (Honours) Biotecnology) and Group X (Bholeshwar Patidar and Vipin patidar B.Sc (Honours) Microbiology) were in second and third position respectively. HOD Shekhar Jain, Asst. Professor Meenakshi Jain and Asst. Professor Dr. Brajogopal Samanta were also actively participated and enjoyed the competition. Dr. Taniya Sengupta Rathore was the Coordinator for the competitions.
It is a peak time to think and work consciously with sustainable source of energy as the non renewable sources are exhausting day by day. The day is celebrated worldwide to aware people for proper utilization of energy resources. Through the competition students came to know about the use of renewable source of energy and how India is taking initiatives for utilizing such energies for its development in all aspects.
