The ability to express someone else’s words in our own way will enable a person to create one’s own unique identity. With this aim, Reading and Speaking Club conducted the Inter-Departmental Storytelling competition on 23 September 2017. The programme started with the warm welcome of judges Prof. (Dr) Roopesh Chaturvedi (HOD Dept. of English, Horticulture College, Mandsaur) and Prof. (Dr) Niranjan Gangwal (HOD English, Govt. PG, College, Malhargarh, Mandsaur) by offering a floral welcome and traditional lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries followed by invoking the blessings of Goddess Saraswati.
The welcome address was given by Prof. Shailendra Sharma, Dean of Academic Affairs. He, in his inspiring speech, emphasised the importance of the Literature and the contribution of it to the overall development of the students. The Guest of Honour of the event, ShriPradhanshu Kumar Chouhan, focused on the art of public speaking and use of languages, in his inspiring speech.Participants were well prepared with their anecdotes. The competition was compeered by Vansh Biral and Ishwariya Sethiya, who kept the spirit alive throughout.
Around 14 departments participated in this contest. The participants used various techniques of telling a story and showcased their creativity. Some participants also used props to make the story more realistic and effective. The audience was occupied with the flow of the competition.It was very difficult for the judges to announce the winner of the competition. The winner of the competition was Ninimol V. from the Department of Education. At the end, Prof. Shahzadee Noor Khan proposed the vote of thanks.
