Its a matter of pleasure that Mandsaur University is going to organize Spic Macay event at Mandsaur University (Campus – I) on Saturday 09 September 2017 as a part of the SPIC MACAY VIRASAT – 2017 series.

Timings & Venue of the events: 02:00 to 03:30 PM at LT-1, Mandsaur University Campus-I, Mandsaur (MP).

The names of the artists are:

1) Smt. Divya Goswami (Kathak)

2) Shri Zakir Hussain Warsi (Tabla)

3) Shri Farhaz Ahmad (Vocal and Harmonium)

Profile of Smt. Divya Goswami

Initiated into the art of Kathak at an early age, Smt. Divya Goswami stands today as an artist anchored to the roots of traditional dance forms. She was initiated into the Lucknow Gharana of Kathak under the able guidance of Guru Yogini Gandhi, at the Kalanidhi Institute, Pune where she learnt for over fifteen years. Currently, Divya is learning under the tutelage of the Great Maestro of Lucknow Gharana, Guru Munna Shukla Ji. Having a good command over both, the rhythmic (nritta) and emotive (nritya) aspects, she has been performing as well as imparting training to students for over fifteen years. She has performed at numerous concerts and lecture demonstrations in India and abroad. She has been bestowed with the coveted National Award ‘Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Purushkar’ by the apex body of performing arts in India, Sangeet Natak Akademi. She is also a recipient of the prestigious National level Title ‘Singar Mani’ conferred by the Sur Singar Samsad, Mumbai. Amongst her many feats, She is also a Doordarshan graded artist. She has also won many state and national level competitions.

To further enhance her creativity and promote Indian Classical Arts, Divya has established ‘Divya Kala’; a creative venture showcasing her versatility as a dancer, teacher, artist, compere, dramatist and creative therapist. Under the banner of Divya Kala, she has been holding exhibitions to promote her art in painting and creative designing. She has worked in collaboration with Chandigarh Sangeet Natak Akademi, to enhance the creativity and overall ability of children in Government Schools through ‘Children’s Theatre Workshop and Festival’.

We are sure that the students will be inspired by these performances.
