Seminar on immune-cancer therapy
The second activity of the RCLS was conducted on 2nd February 2019. The immune-cancer therapy is originally developed by Dr. James P. Allison and Dr. Tasuku Honjo. Both the scientist received the Nobel Prize in 2018 for their novel and fundamental work on immune-cancer therapy. One of our 1st year B.Sc. (Hons) Biotechnology student Ms. Sakeena Tinwala presented the seminar on immune-cancer therapy. After end of the presentation, students and faculties were interacted with the speaker to discuss the research work in details by asking questions.
Dr. Shekhar Jain, HOD, Department of Life Sciences, Dr. Taniya Sengupta Rathore, Asst. Professor, Mrs. Farha Ansari, Asst. Professor, and Mrs. Meenakshi Jain, Asst. Professor attended the program and assisted in the smooth conduction of the same. Dr. Brajogopal Samanta was the Coordinator of the todays’ event.
This research work-based seminar assisted the students in understanding on the immune-cancer therapy, a recently developed cancer therapy in the field of Physiology and Medicine. I hope students are becoming updated about the recent advancement in the field of Microbiology and Biotechnology by such kind of activity. It will also help to develop the research aptitude in the students.
