Resource Person: Dr. Kamlesh Choure, Professor & Head, Department of Biotechnology, Faculty of Life Science & Technology, AKS University, Satna (MP)

The Faculty of Life Sciences has organized an Online National Webinar entitled “Novel Microbial Formulations for improving the Crop Productivity” on 15st July 2020 for the university students, research scholar and faculty members across the world. The key speaker for the event was Dr. Kamlesh Choure, Professor and Head, Faculty of Life Sciences, AKS University, Satna Madhya Pradesh.

The basic objective of this webinar was to provide an insight into how plant and microbe interaction occurs and how we can utilize this association to improve the productivity of plant, which may be of immense help to our farmers. Dr. Kamlesh Choure, in his lecture, focused on bacterial responses to Abiotic stress and how siderophore are produced using this interaction. He also explained about Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR) and how they help plant in uptake of organic matter from soil. He also focused on how these indigenous strains are isolated from soil or plant nodules for commercial exploitation.

The program was coordinated by Mrs. Meenakshi Jain, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Life Science, Mandsaur University. Initially, She welcomed all the participants and introduced the keynote speaker Dr. Kamlesh Choure. In his opening remark, Dr. Shekhar Jain, Head, Faculty of Life Sciences, briefed about the Mandsaur University and expressed gratitude to Dr. Kamlesh Choure for accepting the invitation. During the talk, Dr. Kamlesh Choure discussed in detail about Plant-Microbe Interaction and Novel formulation for improvement of crop productivity. He wants this technique to deliver directly to the farmers to help them to improve the crop productivity. During the question-answer session, Dr. Kamlesh Choure interacted with all participants and answered all the questions raised in a very elaborative and informative way.

The webinar was finally concluded by Mrs. Meenakshi Jain by expressing vote of thanks to the keynote speaker and all the participants. In total, 1164 participants from different states of India and from different countries get registered for the webinar.
