Brief description / remarks:
Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering has organized an Online National Level Quiz for the faculties and students Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, E.E.E, Electrical & Instrumentation & Allied branches of all over INDIA on the topic “Power Electronics & Drives” from Dt.27.05.2021 to Dt.29.05.2021 for three days.
Power Electronics & Drives is the heart of power industry because recently the controls of all the electrical machines are being done through power electronics converters. Also in educational sector Power Electronics & Drives is one of the important specializations. Hence the goal of this online National Level Quiz was to make the participants acquainted with the basics behind the converters and machines so that it will be helpful for them to apply these basics in industrial and educational sectors.
Around 4481 participants had participated in this quiz from counties like London, Sri lanka and Pakistan and various states of India like Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, U.P, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Karnataka, Kerala, Telengana, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Uttarkhand, Jharkhand, Uttaranchal, Jammu & Kashmir, and Tripura etc. The quiz had 20 multiple choice type questions each having 5 marks. Total mark of this test was 100 Marks. The category wise participation is as below:
Students participation: 87.5%
Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor & others participation: 12.5%
Outcome: Participants acquainted themselves with basics of power electronics converters and drives, which will be helpful for them to apply these basics in industry and educational sectors.
