Industrial Visit to Kota Super Thermal Power Station

With an object to go beyond academics, Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Mandsaur University had organized an Industrial Visit to Kota Super Thermal Power Station, Kota (Raj.) on 19th March 2019. The purpose of this Industrial visit was to provide an excellent opportunity to all the students to interact and know more about industrial environment. The intention was to help the students to create a practical perspective on the World of Electrical Engineering.Thermal Power Plant has 7 units and the total installed capacity of the plant is 1240 MW. Mr. B. K. Jha, Training officer, Power Plant, explained the full working cycle of thermal power plant. Students visited several sections (Coal handling plant, boilers, furnaces, steam turbines, generators, ash handling plant and switch yard) and necessary instruments in the power plant.

It was an informative,interesting and successful industrial visit for the students of B.Tech.as well asDiploma.The visit was successfully conducted by Prof. Virendra S. Solanki and Prof. Virendra Jain and it was very fruitful as students observed each and every energy conversion stages used in power plant starting from Coal handling section to switch yard.
