Guest Lectures on Geotechnical Engineering

Department of Civil Engineering conducted a series of guest lectures on  Geotechnical Engineering for the students of BE, VIII semester from 18 to 26 March 2017. Professor Shardool Singh was the speaker. He is the Head of the Department of Sagar Institute of Research and Technology, Indore. In his lectures, he explained the basic concepts and scope of ‘Foundation Engineering’. He also made students aware about various reasons behind the failure of foundation along with the concept of a shallow foundation. He also incorporated different field and laboratory test performed on the soil in his lecture. The series of guest lecture ended with the explanation of ‘how to calculate bearing capacity of soil’? This series of Guest Lecture was thoroughly enjoyed by all the student participants, faculty members, and the speaker.
