The birth of Lord Krishna, the eighth avatar of Vishnu, is celebrated as Janmashtami in India. It is being celebrated across India with much fervor. Janmashtami was observed on 23rd August 2019.
With the same thought, Faculty of Life Science has organized fancy dress with performance competition themed on Janmashtami for the students of M.Sc and B. Sc (Honours) Biotechnology and Microbiology on 22nd August 2019, between 11.00am to 12.30pm. The competition started sharp at 11.00am at college campus with the explanation of rules and regulations to be followed while participating in the contestant. Dr. Shekhar Jain (HOD Life Science) and Mr. Chetan patel (Asst. Professor Agriculture) were the judges for the competitions. Among 9 contestants, Sana Parvez of B.Sc (Honours) Biotechnology 1st Semester won the first rank while Mahak Patidar of B.Sc (Honours) Microbiology 1st Semester and Hitesh Patidar of M.Sc. Microbiology 1st Semester stood second and third respectively in the competition. At the end, Dr. Shekhar Jain motivated students to learn life lessons like; be Humble & Generous, work intelligently, value Friendship, be Empathetic, believe in yourself etc. from the lord Krishna. Certificates to the winners were distributed by Dr. Shekhar Jain, Mr. Chetan Patel and the faculty members of Life Science Department.
