Brief description/ Remarks:

Faculty of Life Science has organized an expert lecture for the B.Sc. Biotechnology/Microbiology VI Sem and M.Sc. Biotechnology/ Microbiology I Sem students on 13th Feb. 2021. First of all, Dr. Shekhar Jain, HOD, Life Sciences, welcomed the guest and given a brief introduction of Dr. Malkhan Singh Gurjar  to the students. Further, during the lecture, expert talked about the host pathogen interaction in plants, plant pathogens and how plant pathogen causes severe disease to plants. He discussed about the different fungal, bacterial and viral diseases of major crops cultivated in India including Wheet, Potato etc. He also talked about the control and management practices of devastating plant diseases. Dr. Gurjar interacted with students thoroughly and gave the answer of each question. He briefed about the Ph.D program and carrier opportunities available for the bachelor and master students in the field of life sciences. At the end of the lecture Dr. Shekhar Jain, HOD, Life Sciences expressed vote of thanks to the guest.


Outcome: Such type of academic lectures from experts help in the enhancement of student’s educational experience. Students also learn about the host pathogen interaction and different types of plant diseases. Such type of expert lecture motivates students to pursue higher education in the field of research and development.
