Brief description/ Remark

On 25 March, Journalism and Public Relations Department of Mandsaur University celebrated Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Sacrifice Day. During the event, Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi’s contribution to journalism was remembered.

The beginning of this program was earned in front of a picture of Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi. Arun Kumar Jaiswal, Assistant Professor of the Mass Communication Department, first spoke as a lounge while discussing the journalistic life of Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi and the strength of his pencil in the fight for freedom. He told that the students were not just journalists but during that time the beliefs of the revolutionaries and general public were there. The student had brought a huge revolution in the freedom movement of the country through his newspaper “Pratap”. After this, Dr. Manish Jaisal, President of Mass Communication and Journalism Department, spoke on the role of journalism in social formation and the journalism of Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi. He said that the level of journalism that is present in the current era, it is necessary to understand the views and feelings of journalists like Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi and bring it back to the ground once again. Also, he made the students aware of the fair journalism of Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi. The chief guest of this program, Dr. Ravindra Kumar, while making his point, explained the role of journalism in common life and gave his views on the literary composition of Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi.

The program was organized Jayesh Acharya, student of  J & Mass Communication Department, and the vote of thanks was given by Govind Patidar. All the students of Mass Communication Department were present on this occasion.


Outcome:   Students became aware of the journalism and views of Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi.
