Brief description / remarks:

In general terms media refers to various means of communication like television, radio and newspaper. The word ‘Media’ is derived from the word medium, signifying   mode or carrier. Media is intended to reach and address a large target group or audience. Department of Journalism & mass communication of Mandsaur University, Mandsaur had organized webinar cum expert talk on 8th July 2021 at 3 to 4 pm on topic “New Media & Politics of truth”.  Shri. Narendra  Nahata Hon. Chancellor, Mandsaur University, Mandsaur and  Prof Pushpendra Pal Singh, Editor in Chief, Rojgar aur Nirman, Govt of Madhya Pradesh & Chairman, Public Relation Society of India. Bhopal Chapter was the keynote speaker of the program. Head of the Department Dr. Manish Jaisal was the moderator of the program. Prof. Puspendra Singh highlighted the point how new media has popularized with the invent of technology and internet streaming apps like whatsapp, facebook, Instagram etc. He also marked the point to understand the difference of fake and real news is very important. He has given information regarding the examples and types of truth. Shri Narendra Nahata Hon.  chancellor Mandsaur University stressed on contribution of Gandhi ji in freedom of stress, the major political Watergate scandal, 1992 Harshal Mehta scam exposed by Sucheta Dalal they were the real journalist of that time and called actual journalism let people know the truth and reporter should be free from any fear while reporting of news.
Later, in the last part of the session both the eminent speakers answer the participant’s question.

Outcome:
The Main outcome of conducting this webinar cum expert talk is to create the difference of fake news and real news, misinformation and disinformation, importance of fearless reporting and Journalism in society. Participants has aware about the difference between truth of politics and politics of truth.
