Brief description / remarks:
Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering organized an Activity-Based Learning on LED strip design with the objective to learn the fundamentals of LED design on PCB board.
An LED strip light (also known as an LED tape or ribbon light) is a circuit board populated by surface mounted light-emitting diodes and other components like resistor and battery.
In session I, Mr. R P Kumawat explained about various resistors and explained how to identify the resistance of resistor through color coding with examples. He also explained about the battery and their working principle by demonstrating the various kind of battery.
In session II, Dr. Manish Jain explained the working principle, operation and applications of LED light. He also demonstrated how LED may be connected to design any strip.
Dr. Shailendra Sharma, VC, MU also explained the fundamental principle of diodes and LED with practical knowledge of semiconductors and fundamentals of structure of atoms and molecules.
Students have design “ENGINEERING” strip with LED on PCB with their team efforts.
At the end, HOD Mr.Virendra Jain motivated students that active participation in this type of activities are very important for enhancing the ability to analyze and design any circuits.
1. Students learned the technique of PCB design and soldering of components.
2. Enhanced the ability to identify and resolve, series and parallel connection of LED circuit design
3. Learned how to design any project with team.
