Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering has organized a Workshop on “Electrical Machines”
|Department: EEE||Year/sem: B.Tech. & Diploma IV sem|
|Activity: Hands on Workshop|
|Date and Duration: 01/04/2021, duration – One Day|
|Title: ‘Electrical Machines’|
|Resource person/agency and affiliation: Mr. Virendra Singh Solanki, AP, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering|
Brief description / remarks:
This workshop was geared to provide a comprehensive understanding of fundamental concepts of electric machines. The objective of this workshop was to demonstrate different types of machines practically so that a proper machine can choose for a particular application. Hands-on practice was performed on different machines by the students, so that they can get practical exposure for different industries.
Schedule of the workshop was:
|10:00 AM – 11:30 AM||Theoretical Explanation|
|11:30 AM – 01:00 PM||Practical Demonstration|
|02:00 PM – 04:00 PM||Hands on Practice by Students|
This workshop provided an understanding of the basic principles, types of excitations, operating characteristics. Students controlled the speed of DC machines experimentally. This practice was for better understanding of the operating characteristics at different speed.
After this workshop students learned about the following:
- Design and speed control mechanism of different types of motors.
- Selection of suitable electric machine for a given application.
