Department of Education Organized a Plantation Activity

Brief description / remarks:
Plantation means, planting trees and plants. The idea behind the plantation activity was to propagate the message that planting helps to maintain clear eco-friendly environment, reduces pollution and improves the green ambience. Decorative plants enhance the overall appearance of a space, but they’ve been shown to boost moods, increase creativity, reduce stress, and eliminate air pollutants — making for a healthier, happier you. This activity expresses our concern for the environment and to reduce the adverse effects of climate change. Plantation plays an important role in maintaining the balance in nature. It has a great impact on the environment by reducing incidences of global warming.
The Faculty of B.Ed. has organized an Activity based learning entitled “Plantation” on 22 March, 2021 for the students of B.Ed. II Sem. and IV Sem to educate the students about the conservation of the environment and how plants make the environment looking beautiful. “The activity was organized under the guidance of Dr. Jaydeep Mahar. In this activity near about 43 students has been participated. All the 43 students formed a group of 4 to 5 members and each group planted a decorative plant. There were a total of 12 groups in this activity who planted different types of plants like Spider plant, Rohini plant, Starlight plant, Petra Croton plant, Mahatma dracaena plant, Morpankhi plant, Eklima plant and so on. All the staff members and students of the college vowed to plant new and to protect those plants which are on the verge of extinction so that our future generations can know about them.
The HOD of Education Department (Dr. Aradhana Sethi) also motivated the students to plant trees and save them and also appreciated them to take participation in this activity, she told that how trees and plant is a part of our life, she also said if new trees and plants are not planted time to time, then one day the oxygen will be finished from this earth, which will be very painful for human life and it will be very difficult for man to survive.
Head of B.Ed. Department Dr. Aradhana Sethi, Dr. Jaideep Mahar, Anil Babu (Assist. Prof.), Sanjay Kumar (Assist. Prof.), Harish Kumar Verma, Ashish Bhaskar, Dr. Jyoti Sengar and Meeta Parikh also participated in this activity.

1. All the participants actively participate in the activity. They spent their day being physically active, after the completion of this activity, students knew how decorative plants enhance our moods, increase creativity, reduce stress, and eliminate air pollutants. All staff members and students understood the importance of plants and also understood that there is no existence of humans without plants and trees.
2. They built social skills and develop teamwork, reconnect themselves with nature, learn about environmental issues and develop links between human and natural systems. Students got new and real life experience through this activity.
