Department of Agriculture Organised a Seminar on “Importance and management of horticultural nursery ”

E-seminar organized by the Department of Agriculture on 26-06-2020. The topic of Seminar was “Importance and management of horticultural nursery ” “बागवानी पौधशाला का महत्व एव प्रबंधन”.

In the series of webinars for students, farmers, and people who are directly or indirectly involved in agriculture. Department of Agriculture had successfully conducted a fifth webinar of third series on 26/06/2020 from 12.00 PM to 01:00 PM. Mr. Shambhu Nayama (Assistant Professor) began webinar by the welcome note and he introduced about the technical knowledge of horticulture nursery in a very easy language. After that, Mr. Jitendra Bhandari (Assistant Professor) thoroughly discussed the information about the importance and management of horticultural nursery and he gave detail for establishment of commercial horticulture nursery, care of pot plant, important things for maintenance of pots, component of nursery, primary horticultural nursery, secondary horticultural nursery, protected structures (Green house, Poly house, Net house, Glass house and Mist chamber) and layout of nursery. More than 40 participants were present in webinar along with all the faculty members of Department of Agriculture.

At the end of the webinar, an interactive session was also held. During the question-answer session, many participants have raised queries for establishment of commercial horticulture nursery and produce quality planting material. All the queries was answered in a very elaborative and informative way. Satisfactory feedbacks were received from students. At the last, Mr. Chetan Patel (Assistant Professor) Department of Agriculture, Mandsaur University concluded the webinar by offering a vote of thanks to all the participants.

 

Outcome- All the participant farmers as well as students and faculty members actively participated in the webinar and gained valuable information about the establishment of commercial horticulture nursery, its importance, management and scope of nursery etc. Positive feedbacks were received from all participants.
