Adventure Tourism Camp – 2019
Like every year, an Adventure Tourism Camp was organised by the Department of Tourism & Hospitality with MU adventure club. The camp included a visit to Amritsar & Himachal Pradesh. This trip included the students of fourth semester of the Tourism & Hospitality Department as well as the students of other departments of college like CSE, DBMC, Life Science and others. The camp was planned and organized under the supervision of Dr. Lokeshver Singh Jodhana with assistance from Mr. Vinay Kumar Agrawal & Ms. Vishnu Maya who accompanied the students on the whole trip.
The trip started on 4th November 2019 early morning when the group took a train from Mandsaur to Ajmer. From there they took an overnight train to Amritsar where they visited the Golden temple, Wagha Border and other site along with the Retreat ceremony of the Wagha Border. From Amritsar, the group proceeded to Manali by vehicles. The next morning on reaching Manali on 7th November 2019 and after freshening up, the students were taken for sight-seeing of Manali which included the Hadimba temple, Vashistha temple, Manu temple etc. In the evening, the students were given free time to enjoy shopping at the Mall Road. The next day the students were taken to Solang Valley and Snow point where they indulged in the snow related activities. The students were then taken to a camp to get the experience of various adventure activities. The students did various activities like river rafting, river crossing, paragliding, bon fire etc. A DJ night was also organized for the student’s entertainment. The group moved for Kullu and Manikarn on 10th November 2019 to enjoy the sulphur springs, Shawl factory and other sites. The group the proceeded to New Delhi Via Ambala to catch a return train from Sarai Rohilla Junction, New Delhi reaching Mandsaur early morning on the 12th November 2019. The students had a good exposure of the various adventure tourism and activities during the trip.
