National Workshop on Library Automation Organised in Mandsaur University
On 27th may 2017, Department of Library & Information Science of Mandsaur University organised two days national workshop on Open Source Software KOHA Training and Certification.
The chief guest of the inaugural session was Dr Prabhat Pandey, HOD, Library & Information Science, Sarojini Naidu Govt. Girls PG Autonomous College, Bhopal. Chairpersons of the session were executive chairman Mr Rahul Nahta and Vice Chancellor, Prof. D.K. Patnaik of Mandsaur University.
In the welcome speech Dr Ashwini Yadav HOD library MU, Mandsaur, introduced the guests and threw light on the importance of the workshop.
Mr Rahul Nahta outlined the importance of the library as a heart of the institution and emphasized on organising such type of workshop in the future also.
Vice-chancellor Prof. D. K. Patnaik insisted on the usages of reading books along with the technology.
The organising secretary of the workshop Dr Lokeshwar Singh Jodhana, expressed his views on the importance of such workshop for the library and Mr Tapesh Dubey Dean Corporate Relations affirmed that the open source software is a necessity of the library.
The chief guest of the workshop Dr Prabhat Pandey in his key speech enlightened on the importance of KOHA software in relation to open source software in detail. He suggested the library experts be updated with the latest technology and computerised every library with this software.
Dr Sandip Pathak, Deputy Librarian Indian Institute of science education and research Bhopal, unveiled the live CD on KOHA and a book for UGC NET written by Dr Santosh Kumar of IIT Roorkee.=
Subject expert Dr Ajay Tiwari of OP Jindal University, Dr Deepak Meena from KV, Rajasthan, Dr SS Chandel from MP Social Science Research Institute Ujjain, and five delegates from DRDO Hyderabad participated in the workshop.
Coordinar of the workshop Mr Pradeep Kumar Gupta presented vote of thanks and informed to everyone present that this type of workshop is first of its kind in the whole Madhya Pradesh.
