Faculty of Life Sciences has organized an Induction Program entitled “ Udbhav” for the students of B. Sc. (Honours) Biotechnology/ Microbiology Sem-I and M.Sc. Biotechnology/Microbiology Sem-I on 6th August 2019 at Lecture Hall-2 during 10.30 am – 1.00 pm. A total of 44 new students taken admission in B. Sc. and M. Sc. have attended the program. The program was organized to make the students aware of their academic aspects, scope of the courses, information and major achievements of the department. The program started at 10:30 am with Goddess Saraswati Poojan by the HOD of the department with new comers and Vandana by Mridul Sharma, B. Sc. (Honours) Biotechnology IIIrd Sem. New entrants have introduced themselves in brief and they were felicitated and welcomed by senior students with hand craft Greeting cards and chocolates.
With the progress of programme, Dr. Shekhar Jain, HOD, Faculty of Life Sciences, welcomed all the newly admitted students and introduced all the faculty members to the students. In his presentation, he has given information about the establishment of department, details of courses, academic calendar, various activities of the department and exam schemes. Further, he explained in details about the huge opportunities in the field of biotechnology and Microbiology, and given information about some of the recently placed students. Research works done by students of the department were also discussed during presentation. The whole program was anchored by Umme Salma, B.Sc. (Honours) Biotechnology IIIrd Sem. The programme proceed with some fun games organized by second year students for the first year students which include nursery rhyme identification game, advertisement game and number skipping game. The winners Shoaib Khan, B. Sc. (Honours) Biotechnology Ist Sem and Trapti Rajguru, M. Sc. Biotechnology Ist Sem were awarded with trophies by the HOD. At the end, group photo session was carried on. Further, on completion of the Induction program, students were made visited to other departments, Gym, Central Library and other facilities of the university to elaborate their vision towards the University diversity.
