Brief description / remarks:

Practical knowledge is much important with theoretical knowledge by which For an Engineer becomes complete engineer after develop and apply engineering skills. Electrical & Electronics Engineering Department of Mandsaur University, Mandsaur had organized an industrial visit to Kota Thermal Power Station, Kota, Rajasthan on 7th october 2022. Total 16 students and 2 faculties from the department visited the Power station.

The purpose of this Industrial visit was to provide an exceptional prospect to all the students to interact and know more about Power generating station environment. The objective was to help the students to create a practical outlook on the field of Power production in Thermal Power Station.

Er. Baby Rana, AE Plant, explained the full working cycle of electrical power production from coal handling station, conveyer system for coal, water storage, cooling towers, boiler system, working of turbine and generator, electricity generation and transmission with live operation on SCADA system. Students visited several sections (railway track of coal handling station, turbine, generator, Control rooms, Transformers etc.) and other necessary instruments in the power plant.

It was an informative, interesting and successful industrial visit for the students of Electrical Engineering and Diploma courses.

Outcome :

The visit was very productive as students observed and collected very important knowledge and information about working of Electrical power generating station with field instruments and futuristic system which reduce human efforts and handle the unnatural situations at some level.

Students learned about practical parameters what should be keep on priority while working in such plants.
