Extension Lecture on Rapid, Economic and Effective Solvent Extraction Techniques

Department of Pharmacy has organized  Extension Lecture on  Rapid, economic and effective Solvent Extraction Techniques. Mr. Rakesh Kumar explained about the importance of rapid extraction by comparison with other available solvent extraction techniques like Soxhlet solvent extraction, Sonication extraction technique etc. During his lecture he explained in detail about the instruments involved in rapid, economic and accelerated solvent extraction. He mainly explained about various generations of  Accelerated Solvent Extractor Instrument like ASE-100, ASE-200, ASE-300, ASE-150 and ASE-350. Accelerated Solvent Extractors extract analytes from solid and semisolid samples in minutes. This system automates extraction, filtration and cleanup of a single sample, accommodates sample sizes of 1 to 100g and uses 50 to 90% less solvent than other extraction methods. Elevated temperature (up to 200°C) and pressure (1500 psi) reduce extraction times and solvent consumption. At the end of the session Principal Dr. Amit K Jain, presented the token of appreciation to Mr. Rakesh Kumar for his valuable and knowledgeable lecture.
